    [9 AM]

It’s taken some time, but I’ve finally hopped on the Twitter bandwagon.  I have loaded up on feeds primarily from financial bloggers, college basketball writers, business and inspirational authors, and theological and church planting people.  Hoorah.

I am also really striving in my personal life to tighten up my financial management.  I have been playing around with this stuff for years, and it is time to be thoroughly responsible with the resources God has given to me.

I keep thinking about words a friend told me earlier, which served at the time may not have really been intended to be therapeutic for me.  Still, they have taken on a deeper life as I survey my life and how I live, and I realize they are true.  “It’s not all about you, Bruce.”  You know what- she’s right.  I know I have spent much of my life just living for me. I may appear to be a nice guy to some, but still, in this heart, I am largely just about me.  Fortunately, God is in the business of freeing us from ourselves.  And where do we find the impetus and focus to “lose ourselves”? In making His business our business.  Hey- if God really is love, in whose hands could we better put our lives and our longings.

Kentucky thumped Kansas in hoops last night.  Wow.  Kentucky sounds really good.

From Geisler at the Apologetics seminar this weekend: “The painful truth is that God is more interested in our holiness than in our happiness. He is more interested in our character than in our comfort.”

I came across this excellent article by Angela Maiers on how to let people know they matter.  Very, very good.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
