• Quiet Saturday

This morning I slept in a bit and early on had a desire to jump in the truck and drive somewhere pretty. I ended up doing bills this morning and thinking about potential destinations before I ended up talking to my folks, and then meeting them for lunch at the Quarters for some barbecue goodness, and perhaps more importantly, potato salad.

After an enjoyable lunch with them, the sun was high and the sky was clear and fully blue, and the desire to go and see still with me, I came home and decided rather to use the afternoon to do some cleaning and consolidation in the garage.

The goal was really to empty a bin or two to allow me to put all of my camping related gear together. What really happened was an opening and sorting of every bin on the shelves along one wall in the garage.

The exercise was beneficial- I was able to empty 3 bins in the end. I was also able to listen to the last regular season Lobo baseball game of the year. The Lobos came into the day losers of 5 straight games, and where one week ago they just needed to win three (or have SDSU lose three) games to take the regular season crown, the Lobos just lost. For the first time all season since the first game of the year, the Lobos fell to second place in the league last night when they lost and SDSU won their game. Today’s game was THE game for settling the champs question- and early on, the Lobos fell behind Nevada. And then, uncharacteristic for the week, something happened in the late innings of the game. The Lobos exploded for 7 runs in one inning. In the end, the Lobos won their game, 13-6, AND after that SDSU lost theirs. It was a fun game to listen to while sorting.

I threw away a few items. I have empty bins now to put camping gear in. I got a little exercise moving boxes around. It was a productive afternoon.

I want to write more posts, better posts. More creative posts. This seems to just about do it for today. it was a low key day. A day to be quiet, a day for maintenance, a day for rest. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. I still feel an itch to jump in the truck and drive somewhere in the dark early morning hours to do some nature photography of the landscape under a rising sun. I don’t know. I don;t know where to go. I’ll look at a book or two tonight for suggestions. And maybe dig around in the garage a little more. But at least I am prepping to be ready to camp, if I ever get myself to just go and do it.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
