    Cooperative napping.

    Cooperative napping.

On the heels of a strange Sunday where I reported on a cat feeling sick, Tim mentioned that maybe she had the kitty flu, and I decided I wouldn’t be surprised if she did either.

She maintained her sphinx-like posture most of the night, but this morning, she actually trotted over to me to say hello before she declined some chicken broth and treats. I was a little anxious leaving her out and in company with her bigger housemate, the boy cat, because they get aggressive toward each other some times, and I feared he might overdo it on her if she was weak.

Tonight I came home from work, and both cats were mellow. My sick one came over and said hello. She later came over and hopped on my lap for a few pets when I sat in my recliner- something she would not have doe yesterday. Tonight, she slept for a good while on her side, out of the sphinx position. And she slowly wagged her tail.

I tried to give her broth and treats again, but no go. I don’t know if she has eaten or drank anything today, although she appeared to go in the kitchen for some water, which I caught the tail end of when she was standing near the water bowl.

I did little tonight. There was no Cubs game on this evening, so I thought I would sit with the cats and get some quiet tasks done. I fretted some, and finished a novella I was reading, and paid a bill.

I had hoped to write tonight, or at least do a little more research on New Mexico in general, in my quest to understand its places, and plant life, and geology, and history, and cultures. It is such a rich state to try and comprehend. And my study skills, which at one time I held in high regard, are anemic and dulled by aging eyes and a distractable mind. I have the books I want to read or need to study to become adequately informed. It’s focus and discipline that seem to avoid.

At least the cat seems to be doing a little better this weekend. But it still seems she is weak. She walks slowly and seems to stumble a bit. She is still not eating. Here’s hoping that her appetite kicks back in tomorrow.

For now, here’s also hoping we all have a good night of rest.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
