• Day Trip: Jemez Colors

I wanted to see some fall colors, so I decided to drive out to the Jemez northwest of Albuquerque today.

My drive dropped me first at Perea Nature Trail, a hidden attraction at the corner of 550 and the turnoff to San Ysidiro and the Jemez Valley. The trail offered a nice walk through changing tree colors to a busy little creek.

My trip carried me on through the Jemez reservation, Jemez Springs, and on past Gilman to the tunnels.

I enjoyed the trip and playing with a polarizing filter for the camera. Alas, I still fill lost trying to logically use that thing. I also sat on my UV filter and shattered it. That was fun. It was a full day- I left at 10:30 and was home by about 7PM, after which I watched my Cubs lose to the Dodgers in game1 of the NLCS series- a loss which I expected.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
