• Dinner with Brett

Tonight, I was grateful to go to dinner with my nephew Brett, to just hang out and to catch up.

As we left from his house, I asked him where he wanted to go.

Somehow we decided on Greek food- neither of us ate much of it other wise.

We ended up going to Mykonos in the Northeast Heights- a place I had been to maybe once fifteen years ago or so.

    It was classy inside.

We each got a different classic Greek dish.

I bugged Brett with a bunch of questions about life, and a recent trip, and being in high school, and thinking about colleges. When he went to Houston, his favorite thing was experiencing the historic Saturn V rocket at the NASA Space Center.

He downed his plate before I finished half of mine.

    We were both so full.

The meal was good, the company was good. I am glad he is growing into a young man. He’s a smart guy, and he has a great future ahead.

I forgot to take the obligatory uncle/nephew photo.

It’s 4 hours later, and I am still full.

    Thanks, Brett!

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
