Today, my friend Chris Payton turned 50 years old.

Chris is not just a friend, but over the years, he’s been my closest and most consistent friend. We met through a church group in high school, and became good friends in time after tat.

Chris has had a significant impact on my life through the many things he’s introduced me to and the many events he’s included me in. We’ve shared in many memories together- most of them good, but some of them tough- and I am grateful we have remained friends. Much of Chris’s influence on me has been spiritual and been cultural. A lot of my musical tastes developed because he introduced me to different bands over time, particularly in the Christian arena during the 1980’s and 1990’s.

To celebrate Chris’s birthday, I thought I would use the post today to list 50 things that Chris has added to my life that has made it more rich and better, be they ideas, or introductions, or incidents, or events, in no particular order. And of course, this list is not comprehensive.

We’ve had some great times, and I am look forward to many more. Especially as we talk through our various ailments and afflictions together!

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
