It was a pretty good day today. It was a challenging evening, but it was a day full of grace.

At work, I just worked on building an addition to a school capacity calculating app that one of our clients. I am really just retrofitting part A to handle data related to part B, so it is a clean update, and it is going smoothly, so I am grateful for that.

It’s been a good week. My emotions have been steadier than they have been in some time. I was blessed to eat lunch with my fried Jenise today. We went ad tried a newer restaurant, Anatolia, off of Central on 6th Street. The meals were excellent- modestly priced, the plates were full of food. I had a chicken kabob that was seated on rice and came with a salad. The food was tasty.

Tonight, after 9 months or so, I went back to Living Free on the main Sagebrush campus. I was nervous, but once I arrived, I was surrounded by Highland friends. The service was on purity, and it was great. They put 450 purity bracelets up on a cross on the stage and invited audience members to come up and grab a bracelet for themselves, to take a stand for purity. Yeah, I got one. I saw her briefly in the parking lot as she walked in ahead of me to the auditorium. I didn’t see her until after the service walking up the aisle toward the exits. When I did, my heart leapt. She is so lovely. But I then left Sagebrush and called a couple from my small group and asked them if I could come over and pray with them. The prayer time was good with Chase and Elena. I am grateful for kind and encouraging friends.

Chase then asked me if I would baptize him in two weeks at Sagebrush Highland. What a honor and a gift. Chase is young and accomplished, and he is the leader of our small group. He and his wife have come to Highland with a deep desire to serve, and they do. I a overjoyed when I think about the people that serve at Highland. There is a lot of love at that church campus. Which is how it should be.

I am grateful today for forgiveness and second chances. I am grateful for grace and te space it provides for us to grow. I am thankful for people who love you despite yourself and your hangups. I am grateful for some other godly men in my life who spur me to walk forward focused on Jesus and His Kingdom. I am thankful to live in a land where the Word can be spoken and spoken of freely.

I have some more changes to make in my life, but one day at a time.

Lord, thank you for your presence and your love with me throughout this day.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
