As my first cat gets older, she gets a little wackier.

With the addition of a new flat mate, she lost some of her control of her environment, and despite Po being in no way a threat to her (he avoids her mostly), she is more wound up each day than she used to be. She grooms herself more rapidly; she has taken residence on the top level of a cat tower; she constantly watches for the new guy, and when he is within 5-6 feet of her, she is a hissing growling machine.

The other thing she does now that she used to not do is sit outside the dark bathroom and stair into it, and let out a sort of meow-cry. Tim would describe her as looking for ghosts, which matches her behavior pretty well.

    She is kinda paranoid now.

And yet, I guess I get it. I spend a lot of time looking for spectres that might linger to complicate my life. And I certainly spend to much time trying to talk to ghosts from moments in my past.

Age does that to you, I guess. Man or beast.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
