I thought I would take some time tonight to figure out roughly how many miles I put on the truck with this trip. I wanted to do this in part because I am nearing the 200,000 mile mark with my truck (I’m about 600 miles short), and I wanted to see about where I was at when I started the trip- because, naturally, I forgot to write it down.

Here’s pretty much where I went and how many miles were traveled getting there.

    Day 1 (339 miles)

Home to Petrified Forest National Park, AZ: 215 miles
Petrified Forest National Park, AZ Scenic Drive: 28 miles
Petrified Forest National Park to Tusayan, AZ: 196 miles

    Day 2 (265 miles)

Grand Canyon South Rim Drive x 2: 44 miles
Tusayan, AZ to Cameron, AZ: 60 miles
Cameron, AZ to Bitter Springs, AZ: 58 miles
Bitter Springs, AZ to Marble Canyon, AZ: 15 miles
Lees Ferry Road (In and Out): 10 miles
Marble Canyon AZ to Fredonia, AZ: 71 miles
Fredonia, AZ to Kanab, UT: 7 miles

    Days 3-4 (2 miles)

Kanab In Town Toodling: 2 miles

    Day 5 (40 miles)

Kanab, UT to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, UT x 2: 40 miles

    Day 6 (144 miles)

Kanab, UT to Zion NP, UT: 42 miles
    Zion Scenic Drive x 2: 13 miles
Zion NP, UT to Bryce Canyon, UT: 83 miles
Bryce Canyon NP Visit x 2: 6 miles

    Day 7 (137 miles)

Bryce Canyon NP Visit x 2: 6 miles
Bryce Canyon, UT to Torrey, UT: 112 miles
Capital Reef NP Visit x 2: 11 miles
Capitol Reef Scenic Drive: 8 miles

    Day 8 (479 miles)

Torrey, UT to Factory Butte Road (East 6650), UT: 37 miles
Factory Butte Road to Hanksville, UT: 11 miles
Hanksville, UT to Blanding, UT: 126 miles
Blanding, UT to Shiprock, NM: 100 miles
Shiprock, NM to Farmington, NM: 28 miles
Farmington, NM to Cuba, NM (via 550): 101 miles
Cuba, NM to Home: 76 miles

If you add all of those mileage segments up, you’ll come up with 1406 miles.

Not too shabby for 6 days of driving around.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
