• Road Trip: Photography, Utah – The Bridge at Hite Crossing

If you take Utah Route 95 from Hanksville southwest to Blanding, you get to take in a lot of sights- which explains its designation as a Scenic Byway. For 125 miles, you pass through no towns, and wander from elevated plain to desert wilderness as you enter the Glen Canyon/Lake Powell region.

Towards Blanding, you find a metallic monolith in a red rock wilderness. The bridge at Hite Crossing demarks the meeting of the Colorado River canyon and an arm of Lake Powell northwest of Blanding, Utah.

This span is the only bridge across the Colorado River within the 295 miles between Moab and the Glen Canyon Dam.

    About

A web programmer by day, I somehow still spend a lot of time thinking about relationships, God, and the significance of grace and love in daily events. I am old school in the sense that I believe in the reality of sin, and in the need of each human heart for deliverance to the Divine. I am one of those who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that you can find most answers to life's pressing issues in Him and His Word, the Bible. I ain't perfect, and a lot of the time I ain't good, but by God's grace and kindness, I am forgiven and free.
